Popocatepetl volcano (Mexico) - Smithsonian / USGS Weekly Volcanic Activity Report for 17 April-23 April 2024 (Continuing Activity)
According to the Washington VAAC ash plumes visible in webcam and sometimes also satellite images rose to 5.5-6.7 km (18,000-22,000 ft) a.s.l. and drifted N, E, and SE. The Alert Level remained at Yellow, Phase Two (the middle level on a three-color scale) and the public was warned to stay 12 km away from the crater.
