Volcanoes of Canada and USA (mainland)

All volcanoes in Canada and in the contiguous states of the USA are listed that have had volcanic activity within the past 10,000 years or are considered to be still active.
USA (mainland exept Alaska) (71 volcanoes):
There are more volcanoes in Canada and the USA than most people know, including many that are active, although there have been extremely few eruptions (but including the famous 1980 eruption of Mt. St. Helens) in the past 150 years. In the 20th century, there were only 2 eruptions: Lassen in 1915 and Mt St Helens in 1980, and since the turn of the century, only St. Helens has been active between 2004-2008.

Most volcanoes of Canda & USA are located along the west coast and related to the subduction of the Pacific plate under the continental North American tectonic plate.
The USGS in particular does a great job in monitoring, studying and publishing a great wealth of information about them.
We are slowly listing the most significant of them, but this it will take some time...
